An exhibition of Painting at
Farnborough Business Park
10 - 21 June 2019
Open weekdays day from 11:00am to 5:00pm
During June 2019 Zimmer Stewart Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings at the historic Farnborough Business Park.
The business park is home to a number of large international companies as well as providing incubator space for emerging technology companies. Resident businesses include AETNA, Fluor, Time Inc, RBS Bank, Redhat and many more.
The Park is arranged over a number of buildings on the site where aviation in the UK started with the establishment of the Balloon Factory and the Balloon section of the Royal Engineers in 1905. The balloons quickly gave way to aeroplanes when in 1905-8 SF Cody developed planes and ultimately the first official sustained and controlled flight. In 1911 the Royal Engineers Balloon section gave way to the Army Aircraft Factory, later the Royal Aircraft Factory (RAF).
Further history of the site can be found on the Farnborough Air Sciences Trust website.
The artists taking part include:
The exhibition will also include selected works from Fine Art students attending The Sixth Form College, Farnborough. The collaboration between Zimmer Stewart artists and the Sixth Form students continues with a group discussion on professional art development and the works each of them have on display.
The exhibition will be open to the public.
