Elaine Pamphilon's style is naive and like folk art: Her compositions do not incorporate perspective for example, but they are "graphically" accurate and we are familiar with her subjects. This familiarity combined with her sense of colour and use of text makes her paintings unique, immediately appealing and instantly recognisable.
Although these paintings exude simplicity, they are not. The compositions take time and experimentation to perfect - working and re-working a line till it is right.
The paintings in this exhibtion include landscapes, still life paintings and some smaller figurative works. All are mixed media on canvas or board. See the short video below of the exhibtion.
