This November, we have a treat for visitors to the Zimmer Stewart Gallery – A solo exhibition of new work by Phil Tyler, whose work is shown in London and throughout the UK.

We will show two bodies of work: his haunting, emotive and poignant “Self-Portraits”  and “Swimmers”, a series of paintings of people enjoying a dip, images which reminiscent of holidays we can all relate to.

The exhibition will include paintings, monoprints, etchings and screenprints.

These works capture the essence of the moment, the spirit of human presence and the space they occupy. Phil Tyler manages to achieve a balance between the opposing forces of gesture and description.

Gallery Director, James Stewart says “It is not often that we hold solo exhibitions here, but Phil Tyler’s two bodies of work and the many different media in which he works, will provide a great deal of interest
for both the academic and casual visitor, as well as his many collectors”.
