We are pleased to show a new series of "objects" paintings by Richard Davidson alongside sculptural semi-abstract ceramic forms by Richard Phethean.

Richard Davidsons new paintings show his skill at painting everyday objects: Here they include apples & cup cakes as well as the shoes that we are familiar with.

The precision of the paintings is in direct contrast to the ceramic forms of Richard Phethean. Where jugs, vases and bowls appear to be torn apart and then put back together, with jagged edges and altered shapes.

The glaze is brushed on to accentuate the shape of the form in smooth gestural strokes, to remind us of the possible function of each object.
